MOLD MAKING

PQD Documentation.png

At Sovereign Plastics, we make all of our molds in our Colorado Facility. Our highly skilled team builds over 100 molds per year. Our system is comprised of state of the art equipment and proprietary software that allow us to quickly convert your 3D CAD file into a high quality injection mold faster than anyone in the industry.

We have developed software to significantly increase the speed of the mold building process. We have automated the design, programming and machining of mold components. This allows us to reduce a typical mold build time of 6-12 weeks to just a few days. With this advancement our customers are able to get real injection molded parts to use either as production or prototype. This high level of automation also removes much of the labor from the process allowing us to be very competitive in price.

Quality Molds Made in the USA

Competitive in Price

The cost is often less than most injection molding companies charge for a prototype mold without the life expectancy limitations.

This allows our customers to skip rapid prototyping because our process is so fast and affordable.

Sovereign Plastics has the capabilities to design and build the highest quality plastic injection tooling. We utilize state-of-the-art high speed and 5-axis machining equipment to create custom molds including quick prototypes, production tooling and everything in between with exceptional results.

In-House Mold Making Capabilities

Our in-house machine shop includes the latest automated systems with robotic tool and pallet changing capabilities to enable lights-out production.

Our sinker EDM capabilities create plastic injection molds and other tooling with complex geometries. This all adds up to an increased capacity, faster, more efficient production, and shorter lead times for our customers.

Our in-house mold-making capabilities are one of the most important factors that set us apart from other contract molders.

In-House Tool Room

Having a tool room in the same facility has several advantages:

  • The people building the tooling are the same people putting it into production. That way you know that the plastic injection mold life will be designed to coincide with the life of your product, and built with the best material and workmanship available in your price range, because we have a vested interest in a mold that runs efficiently as well!

  • You are able to work with the same people “From Conception to Completion”, reducing lag time in communication between suppliers, and eliminating the “Blame Game” often played when working with multiple companies.

  • In-house plastic injection mold making enables us to significantly reduce downtime and cost when problems arise in production, saving our Customers time and money.

Craftsman Designed and Built

Using CAD/CAM software, and CNC and EDM equipment, our extreme attention to detail ensures that the plastic injection molds will meet or exceed your requirements.

Sovereign Plastics has the experience and the expertise to tackle your challenging projects that may require complex mold features such as: multiple hydraulic or slide pulls, unscrewing action, high cavitation, collapsible cores and other high precision plastic injection mold designs. Tool designs can include cold runner or hot runner based on the project requirements. Gate type and location are always planned to provide the best production outcomes

Involving Us Early = Better Parts

Involving us early in your part design process allows us to work closely with your engineering team, providing a smooth transition from the prototype stages through injection mold design and on to final production.

Working from your CAD files, we can utilize mold flow analysis to further improve manufacturing efficiency.

This helps create superior quality parts that meet your requirements for fit, form, and function, while reducing potential part defects.
